Unfortunately, I personally know people who abuse their animals. I know people who dog fight.
I am very embarrassed to say this. They know I am completely against it and I have expressed my views of how disgusting it is. However, there is nothing I can do. I can't report them b/c 1. owning the dogs themselves is not a crime and 2. they will not share specifics when they are "gone for the weekend" - which I obviously know is for fighting somewhere b/c I think they have fears of me actually reporting them. Heck yes, I would... in a heart beat. Even if it includes family members and potentially destroying many relationships in my family.
