You would be surprised at the people here that I have had PM's from the first things they want to know is she going to be tiny and price.. Tiny to me is no better than using teacup.

The last puppy I sold I was so impressed with the lady we talked for a long time on the phone and the price was the last thing she asked me. That is the kind of people I love talking to. Other things are more important than price and size.
This isn't about people calling dog's teacups; many people think that the word teacup is interchangeable with the word toy. If you watch the video, it's about people, mostly young girls who think the purse puppy is a fashion accessory and don't understand that dogs are a living breathing thing with needs. The dogs are being dumped off at animal shelters when people realize this. I don't care what words the buyer uses, I do hate it when breeders use these words to sell dogs.

Since the world wide web has came along things have change and ALOT of online people do it to make money. I am not disagreeing there. If the word teacup is the only red flag I just say call and talk to them if the pups look nice and they are resonably price . . .
To say that they aren't breeding for the money because they are only selling them for less than $500 is unreasonable. Many millers make much less than that and sell the to brokers. As you say, the economy is the reason they are selling them so low. Once greeders have the dogs, anything they get for the puppies is profit. They mate them as often as they can and ignore the health of their dogs.

Your post points out that breeders will use the word teacup, and it just means a dog may be under 10 pounds, another reason for buyers to beware of breeders who use the word "teacup."
