I sure hope she was correct in her diagnosis of sarcoptic mange since she gave her Ivermectin and plans to again. She does itch terrtibly with her hind legs at her ears (that is why I was mainly so concerned on top of the dandruff.) She does not appear to have much dandruff now if any. Just very thin hair up there, it also is gray so that makes it look even balder. I took her to a Holistic Vet today. He was not at all happy at her foot. It is now swolen (it was not prior to the splint and bandage), it now has necrotic tissue and sores. I am happy I went to him because he gave me a shampoo to safely bathe her in every 3 days, a natural antibiotic for her foot and also some liquid to rub onto her foot 3 times a day. I am afraid she would have ended up with a very bad infection if I did nothing as the VEt teacher vet said to do. I hadn't even noticed how swolen it had become since I am not holding like I used to. All of this just sooo sucks! But I honestly believe that if I didn't buy Molly, she would be dead by now.

What I am mainly asking is did your vet say it was for sure Sarcoptic Mange, or did he say it was mange mites, or mites? The reason I ask is because my your description it sounds more like skin mites, AKA walking dandruff/Cheyletiella mite. Which is VERY common with puppies and they can be confused with other mange mites which will leave bare patches, scaly skin, severe itching, etc.

Here check out what I mean here, there are pics of the ugly mites too.. Mange- Demodetic, Sarcoptic and Cheyletiella
