Thanks for everyones responses. Her heart is perfectly normal. We had an ultrasound done on it from a cardiology specialist to rule out reverse PDA. When the vet checks her heart with a stethascope, there is no murmur. The sound that you heard is only that bad if she has something in her mouth. When shes lying down or eating food the sound is very minor. She did get the intranasal kennel cough back in June or July of 2009. This problem didnt start until November. The next step is an inhaler. If that doesnt work we will need to check her larynx and see if she may have larygeal paralysis. Aside from asthma or larygeal paralysis, the only other thing I can think of is perhaps some sort of an allergy that is closing her airway alittle bit. As long as her gums and tongue are pink I know shes getting enough oxygen. But Im just worried about the long term effects.
