Agreed, I would definitely lean toward the Corticosteroid Temaril-p instead of the dexamethasone. Corticosteroids are less damaging and can be used for longer periods of time, whereas the prednisone is usually prescribed for treatments of short duration.

we did two blood tests on my allergy girl one from spectrum labs and one from biomedical but did not help much and cost 400 each and it shows what she is allergic to but not like i can do much about it as it is in the environment. I went to dermatologist and she said skin testing is a waste of money unless i want to do hyposensitization shots which is most natural and they work 85% of the time but i had read alot that sometimes they make dogs worse so i was afraid to do this


Sounds familiar! My little girl has respiratory allergies and is on and off chlorpheniramine. At least she is getting some relieve with it.

Good luck with your little one, I know it is very worrisome when you are trying to do what is right for them.
