It's up to you but I wouldn't have the surgery at a grade 2 especially if there isnt any pain or limping involved. I have 3 yorkies with a grade 3 in at least one of their knees and never had surgery and I don't intend for any of them to have surgery unless I see pain and limping and to be in major discomfort. As long as I have their weight and jumping under control they are doing just fine with good supplements I elect not to have the surgery.
