Well I have been having great success with Tucker and he is 4 months.. He rarely has accidents but I started by taking him out every 30 minutes or so and I guess that is where I am concerned.. Is taking her out in the cold every 30 minutes like I have done with Tucker going to be ok for her... She is way to young to be coming home, but in case you haven't read any of my other posts about her then here goes... She is only six weeks. The breeder is in her late 80's and has let her daughter start to take over and the daughter wants them sold ASAP so I have two options.. Either I can take her and use what experience that I have with Tucker and make sure she is protected and gets the rest of her shots and has plenty of Nutrical, or I can let them keep her for breeding and she will live the rest of her life in a kennel.. Not happening.. The daughter told me that if her mom had not already sold her to me then she would keep her for breeding.. Now I will say that the kennel is clean and the dogs are very clean and well cared for medicaly and physically, but the adults do not have any human socialization and I will not let that happen to my Maddie.. I got Tucker at 8wks and he has been fine so I feel comfortable about taking her on.. I guess the daughter is what you call a back yard breeder although she takes great medical care of them.. The daughter and her husband and their 24 yr old daughter and her 3kids all moved in with the 80yr old mother because her health is not great and her husband passed away and she has had a hard time dealing.. The poor old woman likes to keep the puppies until 10-12 weeks but now she has no say so.. They have already placed an ad in the paper so I hope that the other ones are bought by nice people...Please do not down me for taking her on and not finding another breeder... |
