My Jasper had the exact same issue last week. He actually was "clogged" and the vet ended up doing an enema on him. But he was very swollen afterward, if you can imagine, and per the vet's advice I put vaseline on him. It stayed red for about a day and a half, and was a little oozey from the vaseline and the enema, so I'm sure you little guy is experiencing the same thing. I would recommend just keeping it clean and the triple ointment, and I'll bet you'll be seeing a difference by tonight and no later than in the morning! Hope he feels better soon!
