She was selling for 600. But told me I could have her for 550, she is also sending me a check for 20 more to help cover SOME of the vet charges for the kennel cough treatment and meds they gave me the other day. The visit, med drops, med tablets, and a med shot (no vaccinations that day because they were all up to date, atleast until next week plsu she was sick). The vet bill was a little over 100 with everything. So roughly I have paid 630ish for a sick, runt, odd dog. Then on top of that DNA testing ASAP! |
It's possible that she doesn't know who the father is, lol, maybe you need to go on the Maury Povitch show! Really some breeders are so careless, they have no idea who impregnated the female, but just say what they think will sell. I encourage people to go to the best breeders they can find, I would prefer to pay more up front than lots for vet expenses over the years. Years ago, my purebred had an untreatable genetic disease, today they might be able to treat it, but it would cost a fortune. The last year of my cats life, cost over $2000.00 so I didn't think this was an unreasonable amount to spend for a healthy dog that was a good example of the breed. You can get great dogs for less, but sometimes if it's too cheap, it ends up costing a fortune! Why do you want to do the DNA testing?
Gosh there was a thread several months back that was so similar to this, I can't find it, but she wondered if her dog was a full blooded yorkie, and she had DNA testing done. If I find the thread I'll link it to you, she had some good information on what she did, but like you, she loved her baby!
