Yep and thats why I love this site. We are all dog lovers and none of us would do harm to our babies which is why I like to hear both sides. I think you guys are going to convert me lol

Sometimes I wonder why it was banned in England too. I did a little checking into the history, and a animal rights group came out with a booklet that showed many pictures of dogs whose tails really had been mutilated. In some cases the tails looked like they had been cut off further than the rump. It was disgusting to see a whole litter of pups with these mutilations. People were out-raged, and the laws were passed. I'm not sure where they got the pictures, and I really hope no one did this purposely so that people would be outraged, some people do believe that the end justifies the means. Sometimes, I believe that certain groups would like to get rid of show breeders.

I think it's up to all of us to protect the better breeders including show breeders. Backyard breeders and puppy millers, probably would like to see docking outlawed, it's just a big inconvenience, and can cost them money. However, show breeders are like artists, and have been developing an eye for the breed, and opinions on what they see as perfection. Is it wrong for them to create visual perfection? I don't think so, as long as they aren't sacrificing health to do so. Now people tell them what they are doing is wrong and the standard needs to be changed. It's almost as if some people just want to see the whole showing thing stopped. Some are against purebreds, (I use to be one of those, I had only heard one side of the story), and some seem to be against humans owning pets of any kind. I've read so many breeders say that if done properly and at the right time, pups hardly notice at all, and because these are people who seem to genuinely love the breed, I believe what they are saying is true.
