yes, it is custom to verify shots, specially for bordetella, distemper and so on, just to make sure you are not bringing a sick dog in. the lady should have given you a shot record, my son does all our vaccines for the puppies and I have records that go home with the puppies for any situation that requires it, specially how your vet knows how many and which shots your baby already has and which she still needs? also yes some dogs get car sick, my Yorkie Jack requires medication before a long car ride.
