I would dock all my puppies tails as when they are born and when I dock them I can't tell at 3 days old what will stay in my home as a show dog and what will go as a pet. I conform to the standard and at 3 days old I just can't tell you which one would be considered pet quality so I would have to dock the tails. This is not to say I don't mind an undocked tail but as long as I breed and show all my puppies will have docked tails even if someone were to ask me to keep a tail.
