Ok, first of all, I loved the Hallmark story. If people are rude enough to ask questions like that, then they deserve an answer like that.
Yorkies are expensive. Once I determined that it was the kind of dog I wanted, and researched, I was a little surprised, ok a lot surprised, at just how much they cost. Once my husband got over the shock, he has been wonderful and helping me to save money for the puppy. The timing is perfect, I get to pick up the puppy on my birthday. My hubby says, "well, you'll just get an expensive birthday gift this year." If people ask how much I paid, I would probably say, he was a birthday gift.
Most people don't understand that kind of money for a dog. But according to all the research that I've done, you get what you pay for.
