So then, she called us back today and said she thinks it could be inflammatory of the brain (possibly hydrocephalus?) but would still like to do a bile acid test just in case. So another trip to the vet tomorrow. I'm really hoping we figure something out soon. If nothing comes up, we'll be referred to a specialist 3.5 hours away to do a MRI and possible spinal tap totaling around $2700 (way more than I can afford right now) but I love my baby dearly and I have no clue on what to do. It's just that I'm afraid the specialist won't even be able to diagnose her with anything.
Also, Bella's vet wants to start her on steroids and an antibiotic. |
i was afraid neurological

but was hoping just liver shunt

here is some info on hydrocephalus- i wish she would not have cancelled bile acid though

now you have to wait another day bummer as you need to know the function of liver due to meds anyway - oh well tomorrow is it keep us posted and do a search on here as there are other dogs on here that have been through this and you can learn from those threads as well
