Prey-model raw feeders have to achieve this balance by feeding 80% muscle meat, 10% bone, 5% liver and 5% other secreting organ. Bone only provides a portion of the required nutrients. Even if it did provide all nutrients, feeding it 50% of the time would only account for half of the necessary amounts.

Also, not sure if this would work out for you but if you have some butcher shops in the area and a ton of freezer space, you could consider prey-model raw. If you shop the sales and buy in bulk the cost goes WAY down. Also, there are co-ops all over the nation that order large orders together to cut down on shipping costs. We spend less now feeding PMR than we did feeding kibble.
I would love to do the prey-model diet but im not confident that id do it right so id be paranoid they arent getting everything they need nutritionally... plus i dont know of any butcher shops... but my goal is in the future to feed PMR.. If u have any suggestions on how to get started on PMR, that would be great! What about buying meat at Costco? Would that be more cost effective? I will def look into this... thank you!
