Human ears can split easily when hit in the right place with enough force, it may not have been all you pup's fault that this happened.
Ouch! Sometimes if ouch doesn't work, try ouch but then cry, and rant a little. This really got to my 3 YO rescue, who must have bitten as a pup and was never broken of it. So I had a large pup with really big teeth and she knew to bite your hand to make you let go of her toy! Thankfully, ouch and crying worked, now she 's a real sweetheart, most of the time.

Ex: Ouch! (hold the bitten body part) I don't believe you just bit me! Wah, wah, wah, big sniffs. I thought you liked me, but you bit me! Wah Wah Wah Sniff sniff. You really hurt my feelings. Look very sad, pouty lip (but don't let them bite your lip!) Sniff sniff. Wah! And hide your face and sniff some more. By now they may walk over to you and try to lick your hand. You can try teaching them the 'easy' command so you can back down the excitement a bit.
