Go with your heart and you will make the right decision.
As far as her shots...I would have titers done to see if she even needs them...you don't want to over vaccinate her. I would also have a bile acid test done to see how her liver is functioning.
I know what you mean about the whole thing though...I just took in 2 little boys to help find them an appropriate home and one of them is staying. I currently have 4 but will have 3 once I place Nikki. The cost of 2 as apposed to 1 isn't that drastic and with tiny ones you won't even notice it until you need to see the vet. Just keep some extra $$ on hand for such occasions or keep a credit card on hand for them only...that's what I do and that way I'm never caught short.
