Tucker is the same way.. he is my dog, follows me everywhere, when Im sitting so is he, he could be in a sound sleep and if I get up he hops up right after me. He will go to the kids or my hubby on occasion my he is certianly my dog..

However, My sheltie will do the same thing, and my toy poodle is my hubby's dog.. my beagle loves everyone..
.. so I think its most dogs in general.. they choose one member of the family as thier "owner"...
