Nancy1999, I'm wondering if maybe the changes are to the big huge bags (40lbs., is what I think mine are) and "maybe" the smaller bags (20lb. or whatever) has already been changed? I'm not very clear on this. It does say too that they have already changed "3" formulas which evidently includes their Dachshund 28.
[B]My greatest concern[B] my greatest concern is that my dogs (YORKIE, SHORKIE, SHIH TZU, and ENGLISH BULLDOG with a belly made of iron! LOL) can't handle such super concentrated levels of proteins. The brand I used had Lamb Meal and Lamb Meat to contain only 21% protein and like 12.50% Fat which is way way way less than what Canida will have with their new changes. This ordeal of switching to the 21% protein DID kill my 4 lb Yorkie and almost took out the others. My Vet bills can prove this but the strange thing is that it even effected the dog that had been born and raised on that brand, he went to IAMS and was fine but them went back to his "birth brand food" and it almost took him out. Since the loss of the 4 lb pup, I've spoken to many other people that had used that brand food and have lost their pets. In my own mind.....nobody could convince me that it wasn't the food. Maybe I'm just paranoid after that incident but to go from 15% protein to 65%.........not happenin here. If I have to, I'll start cooking my own is all. ROFL but my cookin isn't the greatest (just ask my hubby) either! Peggy |
