The yorkie was larger before it was actually established as the Yorkshire Terrier Breed. However, there is now a Standard set forth by the YTCA and AKC. To breed correctly is to breed with the Standard in mind and not breed willy nilly without knowing the ramifications of changing the physical look of the yorkie. Such as breeding doll faced, causes dental issues. Breeding smaller, causes many, many physical problems.......
