I just got a notice today that Royal Canin is changing their Yorkshire 28 and their Chihuahua 28 formulas. Evidentl there will be new bags so the new formula is a little more noticable to those "in the know" that might be looking OUT for them. What they are doing is they are going from "chicken" to "chicken meal". What it does is that it SIGNIFIGANTLY "INCREASES" the Protein from (for eg.) 15g in 100g for formula to 65g in 100 g and that folks....is HUGE!

Sounds all great and all of that but after my own personal experience with Dog Foods and dogs DYING from to concentrated protein type dog foods (Canidae)......this notice to their changes is just scaring the hell (sorry) out of me.
Please people.....be aware that sometimes people mean well with trying to make the "BEST" dog food or whatever that they can and sometimes it backfires. Again, my belief is that TO MUCH of a good thing isn't always really a good thing. Canidae is chicken meal like Royal Canin will be from now on and the Canidae........my dogs system just couldn't handle all that high concentrate of dog food.
I'm a HUGE Royal Canin fan and have been for many years but NOW......I may have to go another route (IAMS for eg.) or start cooking 100% of the time for my dogs. I only cook a couple of times a week (chicken & rice for eg.) currently.
Anyway........just be aware of this and if you do go to the "new formula", make DARN SURE you switch over SUPER SLOWLY. It's "wicked" stuff!
