Your vet would tell you that. Vets have very little education when it comes to nutrition- i'm not saying that to put down any vet- its just the truth- my vet included.
Chicken is the main ingredient i many dog foods- so to say that is it not good for our dogs- doesn't make a lot of sense. The meat I am feeding my dog is fit for human consumption. The meat that is in many dog food is by-product- the left over meat that is not fit for human consumption (feet, heads, cartilage, blood)
what you feed is your business and as long as you are happy feeding it- that's all that matters. But I just want people to know that there are other options and home cooking is a difficult option but a great one.
I didn't really understand what you said in the last sentence but you do have to supplement when you home cook.
