OMG those prices are extreme!! I use two different vets here in Missouri. One uses injectable anesthesia (60+ year old "retired" vet) and only charges $50 for spay and $40 for neuter. The other is a very up to date vet clinic with very good equipment, gas anesthesia, monitoring equipment, EKG, certified vet techs etc and charges $98 for dogs under 50 lbs and $150 for dogs over 50 lbs. I can't imagine paying over $700 for a spay!!
