IMO, it depends what you have tried and how bad the problem is.
Many people don't have a problem feeding SD and that's fine.
I use it for Ellie when I have to.
But in a lot of cases it is not necessary a different food could work just as well.
Is it complete and balanced? Yes
Is it going to negatively affect your dog? I don't know, but it will likely be fine.
Are there better foods out there that maybe should be looked at first? IMO, yes.
