Thanks Mary! I am with you too - I hate the breeding part. If I could - I would never breed. I lost my last litter and it tore me to pieces. They were born too soon. They tried to hold on, but lost them one by one and I had one of my mentors (an expert) help me keep them going. But in the end, they were not ready for the world. I am sooo thankful my moma, my first champion, made it fine. She so missed her babies though and looked for them for days after they were gone. I cried for her pain. It was so sad. I hate it! Reason I do not breed often either.
Donna - I agree with you - just from my own experience. Hey, and I tried it, since I was an expert with yorkies before my kids came. I thought I could handle it! Wrong! I could not do it either in the end. So I took a break and now that my kids are all grown, I returned to my yorkies. For the betterment of the breed/dogs, I placed my dogs first always and myself last.
