Go easy when changing out food....add a few kibbles a day to his existing food and take that much away from his old food. You don't want him getting diarreah.
He's a little dog and his tummy is small. He should be having at the minimum about 4 meals a day. Keep Nutri Cal on hand....don't let him over play, don't let him be over handled.....with one so small, you need to be on the lookout for hyperglycemia.
