I trust the rigorous quality control of Natural Balance. If I recall correctly, no hard evidence was ever given for "rancid" kibble making the dog sick. If that was the case, I'm guessing the food was beyond the expiration date (which is printed on each bag) or the kibble was stored improperly somewhere along the line.
Maximo does very well on NB Ultra Premium; however, I am going to try switching to Fromm's because I don't like that NB uses ingredients treated with ethoxyquin. The company claims that the ethoxyquin is cooked off during processing, but I'm not comfortable with it.
