They are giving her false hope IMO. Telling her they will help her keep a pup that most of us realize is not a reality based decision. History has proven she does not have the means to properly care for this puppy. This is not just a "bad economy" problem. This is someone who probably wanted a cute little yorkie and was not advised of what can happen and how much it costs to care for one. She is young, and caring for a yorkie is expensive even when the pup is a healthy one. And...there are often other types of emergencies that owners must be prepared for. This is her first exposure to this and I would hope that someone would help her understand that this is for Melody....and help her LEARN from this experience. It is sadly one of life's hard lessons. Again..."what does not kill us makes us stronger".
If you go back and read the first page, she was told to get in touch with a rescue, she said she did but heard nothing else about it. I don't think anyone was planning on helping with surgery and then handed her back to Krystal afterward knowing she can't care for her.

I also think she thought that we would help melody get her surgery and then give her back to her. then help with the other bills that came up. Krystal does not want to give melody up to anyone.

Like you I give up my heart broken, if she goes to a rescue I will help also, but I will not send Melody back to Krystal.
and what about the other pup?
