I think you are really great for taking Disco in. I'm sure thats it a huge adjustment having a tiny little dog when you are used to a huge dog!!

If you are serious about finding a new home for Disco, you are in a great place. The people here on YT love yorkies and I'm sure you can find a great home for her with a YT'er. You may want to post an ad in the section for 'rescue and new homes needed' forum.

A couple of things I'd like to mention, per your request for information:

1.) You mentioned a back yard. Please do not let Disco go out unattended. Large hawks and other birds of prey have been know to snatch small dogs for a meal.!! Not to mention, yorkies can easily get hurt.

2.) When you take her out, please put a sweater on her. Yorkies have 'hair' not fur and do not have an undercoat, therefore they get cold very easily. She's only 3 lbs, so she could get very cold, quickly.

3.) Little dog, but huge attitudes as already mentioned. Be vigilant around other dogs and even cats.

4.) Do not put a collar on her, use a harness for walks. Yorkies have lots of issues with their necks, not to mention they are fearless climbers and jumpers. A collar has almost caused quite a few deaths with yorkies.

There are tons more I could say, but I'm sure the other yt'ers will have lots of advice for you.

Thanks again for all that you are doing for one of our beloved yorkies!!
