That brought tears to my eyes. Ziggy must have been so happy to see
his owner. It's sad you can't explain to them the reason they were left
I think but I also believe they never forget.
My daughter had a cacotiel (S) for many years when she lived at home
but when she went away to college poor Charlie was alone because I
started working full time. He was use to being with me and her so I
ask my GF if she would take him. She had other's on her sun porch and
he would have company. She took him and he was very happy being
with the other's. Years later I happened to pick her up for a party and
went in, not thinking of Charlie at the time and started talking to her
husband. All of a sudden a bird started screaming and she ran in the
porch to see what happened. He was holding onto the side of the cage
screaming. She didn't know what was wrong. I went in to see and he
went nut's when he saw me! Really screaming. I started crying to think
he remembered my voice, which he did. I took him out and he gave me
kisses all over my face. Who knew they were so smart or felt love for
their owners. Sorry this is so long but it's only another example that
animals, not just dogs have feelings for those who showed them love.
God bless those service people who keep us safe and may they return
to us soon. |
