At one time there was study suggesting problems with microchips. But then another study proved the problem findings were unfounded.
I would say go ahead and chip as it is probably currently the best way to identify a lost dog. Hopefully whomever would find your dog, would have them scanned. |

Have you ever gotten a tattoo? I'd much prefer a quick gentle stick than repeated needle jabs in tender parts of my body. And I *have* gotten a tattoo, so I'm quallified to make that statement
All my dogs are chipped. When I had them, my cat and birds were chipped. I even know of koi (ornamental Japanese fish) that have been chipped. I think the needle scares the owner more than it does the dog
