Thank you so much for the link. Great information and food for thought. I see what you are saying about breeding "pet-quality" dogs without papers. I would never consider breeding my girls if they were not registered. They are, however, and so is the potential stud. I would definitely register the litter. I also have put together most of the tools needed for the whelping process. I've been doing this a little at a time, so as to be able to handle the cost better. Also, I have had the girls checked out regularly with my vet, and before I breed, they will be tested for any genetic abnormalities. God forbid, but if any are found, I will spay her & never look back.

I do have a mentor who has bred for several years, and home-raises all of her dogs (6 of them). She is so willing to answer my questions, but I like to get multiple perspectives before I begin.
