My little guy Lincoln is 3 1/2 months old and doing pretty well w/ the potty training...whew!! He does still mess in the house once in a while but it's ALWAYS my fault for missing the cues or having my hands full w/ my kids so I just try to stay on top of him. Mostly I don't even wait for his cues...I take him out when he wakes, after he eats or plays. I don't live in a really cold area but he still gets stubborn from time to time if it's raining hard or if it's really wet out. He's never enthused to go outside ever and that kind of worries me a bit but hopefully he'll get better as time goes on...
ANYWAYS, I think you'd have some luck putting the pads and/or newspaper outside where you'd like the potty spot to be. And if it'll help all of you relax a bit then revert to the potty pads for a while and see if the outside will work for ya at a later date!
Good luck!!
