One of the responsibilities of breeding is taking pups back that are not in the best environment and are unhappy. While of course family and friends certainly are not the only ones that could be considered irresponsible it sure as heck makes it difficult for us who put ourselves in that situation.I just know this will affect my daughters friendship with their daughter which saddens me.
I tell all new potential owners that yorkies are more like toddlers and need a lot of care and supervision I dont suger coat anything for me personally the trade off is worth the time invested.
Unfortunatly i am begining to see they might have seen having a "yorkie" as a status symbol and not a loving pet.
