Rowdy pulls his ears all the way back flat too - he has always done it though, it's not a new thing (he's 9 mo old). He does it when he sits on your lap and looks right up at you - so I don't think it is because he is scared - he certainly is not scared of us. He does it when he is scared too - also when he is exicted, e.g, meeting a new person or new dog. I do notice he does it more when he doesn't feel good - so perhaps that is what is up with your baby. I know it LOOKS like they are scared when they do it, but I know that Rowdy does it alot when he is not scared.
