Yes, I know the KC breed standard is for tan & steel blue.
I suppose the white creeping in is a throwback to some of the old breeds that Yorkies were developed from, same as the bigger sizes that occur are.
The Clydesdale & Paisley Terriers were black & tan but Skyes come in cream to black, though never brown or tan.
Two of my Skyes are very, very pale cream with black points on face & ears so that could account for some of the light creeping in.
The early breeders worked hard to try & fix the breed & keep it pure once fixed so I suppose that's why we don't see so much of the white creeping in here. It is a native British breed after all.
