Sorry about the misunderstanding... a goiter is an enlarged thyroid (which only
potentially is caused by a lack of iodine). Depending on how large it is (takes a long time to grow usually) its felt by hand and then followed up with a ultrasound. Its really not something you'd have to worry about unless your test results came back abnormal and stayed abnormal for quite a while.
