I must admit that all of my research began AFTER I had put a deposit on her. I was horrified to hear her tail had been docked.
Now that I understand it is a common practice, I understand however, if given a choice in the future - I may opt to not have it docked. I do not plan to show nor breed thus, as humane as possible would be my preference. I must admit however, I have not concluded my research and maybe there is a justification (e.g. health issue) that warrants such a docking. |
I do agree, I think it is very cruel, and can not wait to see it stopped ears and tails in the USA. I do believe their is pain, when the vet cuts the tail off, while I sit in the waiting room I can hear them scream in sheer pain. It makes me nervous and I begin to pace back and fourth, wishing this was not a part of the standard Akc practice. They still cry while I bring them home and I feel so bad. I could not sell them around here for little next to nothing without the tails done. It is a crying shame.
