Hot Rod is scared of just about everything but at the same time he will be the first one to stand up and bark if something isn't right. He's always been the alpha. He will test me from time to time and what I do is say a command, be it "come" and I will just say it once while looking in his eyes and point my finger downward and wait him out. He will eventually give in and come over. We've played this little game for 5 minutes at a time. Once he comes over I praise him all over and his full of kisses and wags.
Maggie May is very submissive and shy. She's gotten so much better than when she was a baby, she will greet a new situation head on but then show her submissiveness by cowering and turning her belly up. She willingly will listen and if she doesn't all I have to do is shake the treat bag, lol. |
