hi, You must do some home work before you set off to look at puppies, to avoid you falling in love with the first you see.
You need to know that a breeder , a good and responsible breeder must be your only option. because you do not want to support puppy mills and pet stores or brokers. These are a huge NO_NO... you will find a ton of information about these and will understand.
When looking for a breeder see how they will treat you, if they have a passion for their dogs, if they can talk to you about the breed, and get you educated about the breed and their own dogs. Also try to sense if they are only interested on selling a dog to make a buck or if they honestly care about the kind of home the puppy may be going to.
Be careful with the words: teaCup, toy and tiny. There is a lot of controversy about them as there are no specific definitions about these words as there is only one standard for the yorkie breed. Many breeders may be well aware of that and when you ask about a TeaCup they will immediately educate you an the word and they may say that it is the only way they know to describe a smaller than standard yorkie. Some people buy teacups that end up being "Teapots".
Yorkie breed is a TOY breed, so all yorkies are TOY sized and classified.
If you find a nice breeder you are off to a great start and an awesome relationship , with your dog and the humans who bred him.
Good Luck in your search !
XOXO
