I know alot of breeders I talk to will stop giving heatworm meds. as soon as they go in heat. Like Frontline plus it says it is safe but I won't take the chance. It might be something you want to talk to your vet about.
Only other thing I can come up with is the herpes. I would have her checked just for piece of mind then go from there. Also Poymetra.
You may never find anything. Just like some women may be totally healthy but lose a baby or have a miscarriage. We just can't explain it.. just God's will. You may breed her again and everything go wonderful. That is somthing you will have to search your heart and decide if your up to if this happens again.
