It's sort of like being a mom actually. You still have a heart for your first one, but you'll develop a similar love for the second one. I just got my second one early this month, and I love love love my first yorkie. But you start to care and love for the second one just as equally. I haven't had the experience where I favored one of them more then the other. So for me it wasn't hard.
You can't help but love the both all at the same time.
