Whether paper or plastic is very dependent on coat density and texture, male or female.

I use plastic on thicker coated male dogs. Males for obvious reasons. If I have a dog with a silkier thinner coat I find that silk wraps stay in better. But, I do use the paper/silk wraps on facial furnishings changing them out every day. I usually check the neck area wraps daily. What I have found is using a wrapping jacket has really helped in the daily checking of wraps, usually can go 5 to 6 days. When I take the jacket off the wraps look like they were just put up.

The plastic wraps are more economical......they can be washed over and over.
