I had the 12 beds cut out and I used my serger machine and closed all the edges. This was the most affordable thing I could think of doing!
The large sleeping bag was $4.24 and I made 12 beds out of that for .35 cents each!
These are easy and simple to wash, just toss in the washer all at once.I saw only a few dogs with this type of bed at the shelters. Some had nothing to sleep on and some had only a towel or cardboard cut out boxes.
Trust me the dogs didnt have poop on their bed areas. I thought maybe thats why they didnt have bedding.
I'm not positive the Dogs & Cats is open on Monday but I'm going to call because I have gone on a Monday and no one opened the door. Since I often get dogfood very cheap using coupons I will continue doing this once a month or when I find the amazing dryfood deals. Donating these beds is something I could continue if I find cheap sleeping bags or dark color comforters. I thought of calling them "Cookie Beds"
named after my Cookie. I pray that one day I get him back and Cookie and I could delivery at least 12 beds a every month to local shelters.
Thank you to all who were able to give. Almost everyone I know is in a tight financial situation right now so $5 is a big deal and I understand that and it did make a difference!
