Low Fat Treats suggestions While I am training Toby that it's a GOOD thing to potty outside, I always give him a treat when he does. Our shichon of course gets a treat too (even though she is completely housebroken) but she doesn't need to gain weight. Any suggestions on some good low fat treats I can give them that I might buy at Petsmart or Petco?
For those of you that remember he is a puppy mill rescue I got from a foster mom who had him for a year, I put down some puppy pads and he has used them. So that's a good thing. As long as we aren't gone for a long time, he seems to do OK but he's only been with us two weeks so I think it's way too early to tell. Hopefully he will get the hang of being rewarded for going outside.
He is a lot more playful with our shichon now and Speedy is being a good "big sister" to him. They play so good together!
He's getting a little better about approaching me as long as I keep telling him he's a good boy. He has let me pick him up and put him beside me in my recliner and laid there. I bought two doggy beds and have one in my office and he loves it. I figured this way he can get used to being with me.
He is VERY hesitant in taking a treat from me. I have to stretch my arm out as far as it will go. Sometimes he takes a treat from me but most of the time I have to lay it down and walk away. Any ideas as to why he would do that?
So for only being with us for two weeks, he's making progress. Hope I'm not boring everyone with these questions and updates. |
