He sleeps in his crate in our bedroom and doesn't whine to get out, he seems happy to just have us near but when we are downstairs and say I need to throw the rubbish out and pop him in his crate he just yaps and I'm really worried about when the day comes that I will actually have to leave the hours for a few hours lol. I havent been out without him yet, only had him just coming up to 3 weeks.
I've never had any issues because of him sleeping in my bed. I did the crate thing for the first month but he continued waking up to potty once in the middle of the night. One night, I fell asleep with him in my bed and he slept until 9am! From then on... in the bed he was. He's always been very reliable though and could have free roam of the house while we're gone and he's fine. He doesn't have seperation anxiety issues when left alone. He's attached to me in general... if I leave a room, he follows me, etc, but I think that would just be him regardless if he slept in my bed or not. I was raised with the dogs sleeping in the beds so it's never seemed odd to me and it's just natural, lol. My parents dogs always were in their bed, my grandparents, my aunts and uncles...
