Default Start with a face cloth

Hi,
I have the same problem with my Chuck. I start by cleaning his eyes with a face cloth wet with warm water. I talk to him calmly and explain what I'm doing (not that he understands but it's consistant). Then I wring out the cloth and put just a dab of toothpaste on the corners. I wrap that around my index finger and gently start rubbing his canines, up by his gums, the whole time talking calmly. I've been doing this for several months now and now I can get to the top and bottoms. He also lets me floss his front teeth, but I have to be super gentle. Initially, he was really squirmy so I didn't get to do many but I attempted more often.
For us, talking calmly and being very gentle is the key.
Chuck also gets a treat afterwards.
