I think, that the breeders who love the look of the yorkie would continue to breed for that look regardless of whether or not there were standards. The standards are set so the judges have something to judge them by.

As you saw in the video, the judge for the GSD said that the crippled dog met the standard, it did not matter that the other dogs might have been healthier.

That is the problem. But why they don't adjust their standards when they see it is creating health issues, is beyond me. how can you say you love the breed and you love the dogs when you are knowingly producing unhealthy dogs.

It doesn't make sense. Does a stupid ribbon mean that much that people are willing to produce crippled dogs just to win it?
