when they were 5 mths old. Our tent is big enough so that their smaller xpen can set between our cots. we also took their stroller with the atv wheels and parked it close to the campfire, (it was cold). they had their thermal jammies on and the windscreen up on the stroller and could sit near the campfire. I never let them loose, off leash ever. I'd be scared of snakes or hawks or whatnot.
