I think you were wrong on how you handled the situation....I would have made sure my dog was ok and promptly secured then explain to the boy how important it is to handle these little dogs with care and mention to his mother what you found him doing. |
I tend to think maybe that little boy's mom felt the same way about her son as you do your pet. Maybe he really didn't know any better. Maybe he has a bigger dog he is able to rumble with, or no dog at all, and doesn't understand what he did wrong. And I also agree with everyone else, young children tend to pick up small animals and squeeze them and that can cause serious injury to the animal if the dog doesn't bite defending itself. I am glad your dog is ok, I really am, but it is too bad it ended like it did.
